Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario Lester Coloma has been professionally hand painting murals since 1996. He has since been awarded commissions for corporate clients including Caesar’s Casino Windsor, Whole Foods Market and Busch Gardens. Upon relocating back to Hamilton he has created several hand painted murals for the local businesses such as the Cake and Loaf Bakery, the Foreign Affairs Office and Corktown exterior mural measuring 130 feet long. His community contributions to the City of Hamilton include teaching at the Dundas Valley School of Art and artistic collaborations with L’Arche Hamilton, SOBI Hamilton and Kiwanis Boys and Girls.
My creative career stems from extensive professional mural painting experience spanning over 20 years. I naturally gravitate to produce works of art where a full range of movement is involved. This connection to the physicality in creating has always played a large component in my art production and I continue to seek opportunities that satisfy this requirement. Subject matter almost always includes a variance of the human form communicating underlying narratives of emotions and struggles.
